‘छोरीको हालत एकदमै नाजुक छ, अस्पतालले निको हुँदैन घर लैजानुस् भनेको पनि ल्याउने बित्तिकैदेखि हो। तर मेरो जाने ठाउँ कतै छैन। त्यसैले म यही छोरीको मृत्यु कुरिरहेही छु,’ सरस्वतीले भनिन्।
२०६९ साल माग २८ गते सरस्वतीको लागि विशेष दिन थियो। एक छोरा एक छोरीको उचित लालन पालन, पढाइ र सहज जीवन जिउने सपना बोकेर उनी कुवेत उड्दै थिइन्।

कुवेतको फर्वानीय भन्ने ठाउँमा उनले घरको काम गर्नुपथ्यो। घर मालिक त्यति नराम्रा थिएनन्। तर, काम भने निकै कडा गर्नुपर्थ्यो। बिहान ४ बजे उठेर बेलुका १०/११ बजेसम्म एकछिन् फुर्सद हुँदैनथ्यो। महिनाको २० हजार रूपैयाँजति कमाई हुन्थ्यो। काम कडा भए पनि पैसा समयमै पाइन्थ्यो। राम्रै थियो।
तर, अचानक एक दिन सरस्वतीलाई आफू गर्भवति भएको महशूस भयो। उनले त्यो कुरा घर मालिक्निलाई भनिन्। मालिक्निले गर्भवति भएपनि अब तैले काम गर्नुपर्छ तलाई हामीले किनेर ल्याएका हौं भनिन्। गर्भवति अवस्थामा कडा परिश्रम गर्नुपर्दा सरस्वतीको हात खुट्टा सुनिए। उनी बिरामी परिन्। उनले घर मालिक्निलाई अस्पताल लगि दिन आग्रह गरिन्। तर, घर मालिक्निले न त कहिलै अस्पताल लगिन् न त गर्भवति अवस्थामा खानुपर्नै औषधि तथा खाने कुरा नै खुवाइन्।
अस्पताल नै नगई कुनै औषधि नै नगरि ९ महिनामा सरस्वतीलाई सुत्केरी बेथा लाग्यो। सुत्केरी वेथा लागेपछि घर मालिकले उनलाई अस्पताल लैजान गाडी निकाले। सरस्वतिले बीच बाटो मै छोरीलाई जन्म दिइन्। ‘त्यस दिन अत्याधिक मात्रामा सडक जाम थियो। बच्चा जन्मेपछि पनि २ घण्टा कारमै बस्न पर्यो। कारमा श्वास फेर्नपनि गाह्रो थियो। त्यसैले होला छोरीलाई यस्तो रोग लाग्यो’, आँशुको बलिन्द्र धारा झार्दै सरस्वतीले भनिन्।
अस्पताल पुगेपछि बच्चालाई सिधै आइसियूमा राख्नुपर्ने कुरा भयो। घर मालिकले बच्चा र आमालाई अस्पतालमै छाडेर गए। कता कताबाट सरस्वतीको सम्पर्क आइसिआरसिसम्म पुग्यो र सहयोग मागिन्। त्यसपछि उनले १९ महिना छोरीको स्वास्थ्य आज ठीक हुन्छ कि भोलि ठीक हुन्छ भन्दै काटिन्। बच्चाको अवस्था सुध्रने अवस्था नभएपछि कुवेत अस्पतालले नेपाल लैजान भन्यो र सरस्वती बिरामी छोरी बोकेर जेठ १५ गते नेपाल आइन्। अनि पौरखी नामक संस्थाको सहयोगमा शिक्षण अस्पताल पुगिन्।
शिक्षण अस्पतालमा आइसियू खाली नभएको भन्दै १९ महिनादेखि आइसियूमा राखिएको बच्चालाई सिधै अक्सिजन दिएर वार्डमा राखिएको छ। बच्चाको उपचार गरिरहेका डाक्टर दिन दयालु घिमिरेले भने 'बच्चालाई सेरेब्रल पल्सी (जन्मिदैदेखि दिमागमा रगत वा अक्सिजन नपुगेकाले बच्चाको दिमागको विकास नभएको,’रोग लागेको छ।’
डाक्टर घिमिरेका अनुसार गर्भवति अवस्थामा आमाले उचित औषधि तथा खानपान गरेको छैन वा गर्भवति अवस्थामा कडा परिश्रम गरेको छ भने बच्चामा यस्तो समस्या देखिन्छ। अनि बच्चा जन्मेपछि अक्सिजन वा रगतको अभाव भयो भने पनि बच्चामा यस्तो समस्या देखिन्छ।
बच्चाको अवस्था नाजुक छ। ‘हामीले गर्न सक्ने जति गरिसक्यौं अब गर्न सक्ने केही छैन। त्यसैले घर लगेर राखे हुन्छ,’ डाक्टर घिमिरेले थपे।
यता सरस्वतीको भने जाने ठाउँ कही छैन। सरस्वतीको छोरीको उपचार गरिरहेको पौरखीले पनि केही गर्न सकिरहेको छैन्। विदेशबाट समस्यामा परेर फर्केकाहरूलाई सहारा दिँदै आएको पौरखीसँग बच्चा राख्ने सेल्टर नभएकाले सरस्वती र उनको छोरीलाई राख्ने ठाउँ नभएको पौरखीको महासचिव सत्रकुमारी गुरुङले भनिन्।
